The Snow - La Neige

En raison de la neige, la plupart des membres qui avaient pris des billets pour le Cabaret samedi  dernière, a estimé qu'il serait trop dangereux d'aller à Huelgoat. Phil et Rosie, qui vivent plus près, ont réussi à y arriver et avaient une soirée super. Le reste d'entre nous de Scrignac prenait quelques verres au bar et puis rentrait chez nous. Même alors, les routes étaient traîtres et nous avons tous senti que nous avions pris la bonne décision. Béatrice, qui  est allée plus tôt pour aider à l'organisation et l'animation, était d'accord, car elle avait pris une demi-heure pour y arriver et trois quarts d'heure pour revenir.
Dix membres ont joué Pétanque dimanche après-midi. Nous avons commencé à l'heure habituelle de 3h00, mais nous avons terminé tôt à cause du froid extrême. Après rafraîchissement chez Peter et Sheila, nous sommes partis avant la tombée de la nuit, car les routes, qui a dégelé un peu plus tôt, avait déjà commencé à devenir croustillant.
Une décision sera prise plus tard aujourd'hui sur la réunion de ce soir, (lundi le 29 novembre). Tous les membres seront informés si la réunion est annulée par téléphone ou par e-mail.


Due to the snow, most of the members who had booked for the Cabaret last Saturday, felt that it would be too dangerous to go to Huelgoat. Phil and Rosie, who live nearer, managed to get there and had a super evening. The rest of us from Scrignac had a few drinks in the bar and went home. Even then the roads were treacherous and we all felt that we had made the right decision. Beatrice, who had gone earlier to help with the organisation and the entertainment agreed, as it had taken her half and hour to get there and three quarters of an hour to return.

Ten members played Petanque on Sunday afternoon. We started at the usual time of 3h00 but finished early because of the extreme cold. After refreshments at Peter and Sheila's we hurried home before dark as the roads, which had thawed a little earlier, had already started to become crisp.

A decision will be made later today about tonight's meeting. Monday the 29 November. All members will be notified if the meeting is cancelled by telephone or email.
